Chef Lowell Hodge is the chef and owner of Sharky’s, on Anguilla’s West End. Tripadvisor has consistently ranked Sharky’s the number one restaurant in Anguilla since 2019 and it is always at the top of everyone’s “best Anguilla restaurants” list.
Chef Hodge started his culinary career as a prep chef at Blanchards on Meads Bay, quickly working his way up to serve as manager for 18 of his 21 years at the restaurant. Managing one of Anguilla’s most popular fine-dining restaurants as a local was an unusual accomplishment in the 1990’s, but Chef Hodge has always believed that the rigorous hands-on training Anguillian’s experience working in the island’s luxury resorts and private restaurants is the perfect foundation for running a successful restaurant. This belief pushed him to open his restaurant and make it his full-time career.
Blending spices to create new dishes that stand out is Chef Hodge’s favorite aspect of cooking. His tantalizing lobster stir fry, which he presents inside the shell, made Sharky’s famous and is still one of the most talked about dishes on island. Chef Hodge is bringing it back April 24th and will have it on the menu in May during ACE. His lobster and shrimp risotto is also a crowd favorite.
While the flavors at Sharky’s are truly elevated, at its heart it is a home-based restaurant where Chef Hodge warmly welcomes customers to relax and enjoy a hearty, home-cooked meal.
