Yennifer “Yenni” Gumbs-Fleming provides professional bartending services at Anguilla’s award-winning restaurants, resorts, luxury villas and private events. She has worked at many of the island’s top venues including Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, Malliouhana’s Bar Soleil and Leon’s at Meads Bay, Roy’s Bayside Grill, Amiolas, Waves, Casa de Campo, Cafe Azul and more.
Gumbs-Fleming was drawn to bartending because of the people. She loves to hear their stories, encounter different personalities and learn from them. Originally self-taught, she later trained with award-winning mixologist Jamal Hodge and earned her certificate.
What Gumbs-Fleming loves most about working as a bartender, is the satisfaction of the person enjoying one of her hand-crafted cocktails, “I love the soft smile and little sparkle the person gets when they take that first sip and I want them to feel like they can take over the world.” Her favorite drinks to concoct are margaritas and Old Fashions.
For Gumbs-Fleming the role of the bartender in the culinary experience is to bring the vibes, “A great bartender needs to be full of personality and a good conversationalist who can make the customer feel great and complements the servers and chefs.”
In her spare time, Gumbs-Fleming enjoys crocheting and oil making.
