Orlanno Hodge is one of the main bartenders at Sandbar in Sandy Ground.

For Hodge, the best part about bartending is connecting with guests, “I love making people feel welcome, having conversations, and creating an atmosphere where they can relax and be themselves. To me, bartending is important because it allows you to express your personality while also listening to others and being part of their experience.”

Hodge grew up and completed his schooling in Anguilla. Prior to Sandbar, he was a member of the kitchen staff at Serenity Cottages.

Hodge approaches bartending with the goal of meeting guests in the moment and making them feel good, whether that want to celebrate, unwind, or just enjoy a great drink.

His favorite cocktail to make is a classic mojito, because, “It takes care and effort to prepare it properly and there is a satisfaction to building a drink from scratch and seeing it come together perfectly.”
