ACE is delighted to welcome Trudy Nixon as the co-host of Anguilla Culinary Experience 2023. If you’ve been to Anguilla, chances are you’ve picked up a copy of Trudy’s popular guide, TRUE Anguilla. Packed with insider tips and information about all things Anguilla, and now in its eighth edition, this island 'bible' is distributed in print and online worldwide. It is a must have (and keep) for both locals and visitors. In 2021, Trudy added a beautiful, new TV show to her TRUE Anguilla collection. She also found time to pen two novels set on her beloved Anguilla, with a third in the works!
A native of Wiltshire in the United Kingdom, as a child Trudy loved to eat, read and draw and looked forward to passing round the food and drink when her parents had guests. Early on she decided she wanted to do something creative that involved going to parties and talking to people. After graduating from Lancaster University in Fine Art and English she moved to London where she worked and played hard for many years, enjoying a range of interesting jobs in the Arts and Design industries.
In 2005, Trudy changed her life for the better when she moved to Anguilla, having fallen deeply in love with it on sight. She has celebrated and supported Anguilla’s tourism and culinary industries in countless ways since then, including sharing her talents as the former Executive Director of the Anguilla Hotel & Tourism Association and manager of the award-winning Anguilla National Culinary Team. Many sunny years later, she still enjoys doing the things that captivated her when she first met the Caribbean: going to the beach, eating crayfish, drinking rum punch with friends, and of course enjoying the many dining experiences available in Anguilla. Her knowledge of Anguilla and effervescent personality is in-demand, and you’ll often find her collaborating with top US, UK and Caribbean experts and publications.
If you have a question or need a recommendation about what to do, where to stay or what to eat in Anguilla, just ask Trudy.
